My next-door neighbour has been busy this weekend waterblasting his property—and I think he's finished because it's gone very quiet and I can open the doors and windows to let in some glorious springtime air, and I can hear the birds singing. Then the punchline popped into my head of story (joke) my parents used to tell about a man who spent much of his time hitting himself on the head; when he was asked why he did it, he said: 'Because it's so peaceful when it stops!'
And I wondered how many of us keep beating our heads against our own walls of patterning, of preconceptions, of all the yammering of our conditioning....and how many of us, once we've done the clearing and healing to free ourselves of an issue, feel such a sense of lightness because our authentic selves can now step forward from behind the barriers. We can truly breathe a sigh of relief and know just how peaceful it is now it's stopped.
And, like my neighbour, we can feel such a sense of acknowledgement and wonder when we realise just how much of a difference the cleansing has made.
